We consult on the same feasibility questions, financing structures, and partnership stacks we underwrite in our own active pipeline — not from theory, but from what's currently working.
Rooted EdVentures exists because housing should support economic growth and development, not extract wealth from communities. We are the house of knowledge for affordable housing finance innovation — modeling rent-to-own and other creative ownership solutions that transfer wealth from developments into the communities they serve. We stitch together underconnected systems — trusted community institutions, public finance programs, and creative ownership structures — into models that transform rental instability into community belonging and rooted participation.
Our approach is to underwrite for more than rent comps and lease-up velocity. We underwrite for referral trust, resident readiness, and conversion probability — treating community stability as the foundation that gets recycled into new capital, new partnerships, and the next project.
We advise cities, nonprofits, tribal communities, and mission-driven developers across three core areas.
Rooted EdVentures is led by Principal Consultant Casey Warmbrand, who brings a systems-thinking lens to housing finance rooted in mathematics and economics training at Georgia Tech and the University of Arizona, and a prior faculty appointment in mathematics and gifted education at Arizona State University. Casey completed the inaugural cohort of LISC Phoenix's Housing Developer Training Institute and is now fully dedicated to Rooted EdVentures, with a live, multi-state development pipeline informing every engagement.
Every consulting engagement gets the Principal Consultant's direct, hands-on attention, sized to your actual need rather than a generic template — supported by a network of builders, general contractors, architects, and capital partners we can connect you with when an introduction makes sense.
